Body Styles, Models, Years?

Post by 72Rdrnner » Mon Apr 14, 2008 6:48 am

I'm trying to put together a handy dandy data sheet for the judges to use in our local show.

What I want to make is a grid with years across the top and body style letters, i.e. A, B, C, D, E, F etc down the left side.

At the intersection of each row and column I will enter the specific car model, i.e. Satellite, Charger, Volare, Cuda, etc. That way it is easy to classify the cars for judging as well as giving the judges information to cross check the classification with the actual car.

We often use individuals from other area car clubs to help with judging and they may not be "Mopar Savvy" hence this info would be helpful.

So does anybody know a specific place where one can find all the various models Mopar made that cross reference them to the particular body style?

714440 gtx

Thanks, thats what I was looking for to get this thing started.

I want to expand it though to be really specific, i.e. Satellite, Satellite Sebring, Satellite Sebring Plus. That way no matter what shows up, it will be included, even those really obscure ones. Things like station wagons and their variants. Or specialty trucks and the like. Also the front wheel stuff as that is starting to be in our show. Along with the new generation of Chrysler products.

I'll put together the first cut (planned on using Excel) and post it here. That way I can tap into the vast amount knowledge that exists, and provide a way to input that knowledge in this project.

Yeah, I figure at some point there will be that proverbial "line in the sand" where the obscurity is outweighed by the weight of the document itself!

I yearn for the good 'ol days when things were simpler!

FWIW I hadn't realized the Dodge Power Wagon was back. Guy down the street stopped by with his new one. Pretty massive 4x4 truck! The drive train looks like something that's under my 40 foot motor home! I was impressed. It even had the 5.7 Hemi under the hood!

Well if you cant have all of the specific submodels, just do each model dont get in details.Because if you dont have everything written down, someone will probably end up having something that isnt listed.

Hey, it's getting better....

Dodge Lil' Red Truck...a Dakota, right?

Or a Dodge Pickup Convertible!

1963 Imperial?

1937 Dodge 4 door? (put them in Antique Car)....gahhhh!

How about the 1978 Plymouth Super Coupe?

Or....1950 Dodge Wayfarer?

Here's where all this comes from...

I volunteered to run the judging for the LA Mopar Nationals car show for the Mopar Magic Club in Shreveport/Bossier City, LA. So I take a look at what's going to be in the show and try to set up classes. Then the 1950 Dodge Wayfarer shows up! Or the Super Coupe!

How do I fit all this into the "alphabet" car body designations? Or any designation for that matter? Can't put them all in "other" or "unknown"!

And the beat goes on!
