Ethical dilemma or a smart decision

Went out to the salvage yard and found a 1973 Satellite minus the powertrain. The body is in excellent shape. Just the typical patch panel on the front fenders and surprisingly the rear quarters, pillars, trunk, and floor pan is in excellent shape. Near that Satty is a 73 Roadrunner. The entire front clip is gone (and with it the engine) and the vin number identifies it as a 340 car. The rear trunk is shot and the interior is stripped. The floor pans are rusted through, but it has a factory sunroof.
And it's Blue with white stripes.
Now, would it be wrong to buy both cars and use the Satty as a donor car for a Roadrunner that's only 1/3 of the car it used to be? Something is telling me that this doesn't sound ethical.
Whaddya think?

I wouldnt, you have a complete stock satty right? Why ruin that for a rr that sounds like a parts car.

idk...either way, ur not going to have a "numbers matching blah blah blah" car, so it's all about preference...build a runner out of a satellite (basically) or clone a satty into a runner...which one's easier lol

Yeah, I'm understanding your points. What's funny is that another option I have is to take the 73 that has a very nice body, strip my 74 down and restore the seventy three. It would cut down the body work by 2/3rds. Only slight patching on the seventy three as opposed to the Serious Satellite project that's gonna require a ton of work. Engine, tranny, rear differential, bumpers all of that would work.
Still couldn't get away from the green. . ..the seventy three is a light green. LOL.

Some of you guys know me too well!!!
If by donor you mean swapping all the road runner stuff (including the VIN) over to the satellite, yes that's unethical! If you use the satellite panels as replacements on the road runner shell then that is restoring a car. In that case, it's good to take a lot of photos before and during the restoration and be honest about the rebuild process if you ever decide to sell. That's my 0.02

Well, no I wouldn't cheat like that. . .besides, cutting out the sunroof and putting it on the Satty would be a bit more work than I would want to invest.
And I'm not going to sell. My wife made the decision for me. I can buy the 73 Satellite and either use it as a donor car or rip out the power train in the rust bucket I have now and drive a 73 Satellite Coupe. A bare bones Satellite, 318 hi po'd to a 340, bench, standard dash, no a.c., and vinyl floor. It has piqued my interest. . .
She took a look at the Roadrunner pics and said
NO!

My thoughts exactly!
Seems like alot of work compared to a satty in better condition to resore.

Its a shame ,that roadrunner sounded like a nice car at one time, alas you must let it rest in peace.

I would like to get the sunroof. Is it possible that you would cut it out and sent it to me? Let me know if you would be interested and for how much.
