extra firewall holes?

i'm doing the engine compartment in my 73 SSP, and after removing all the hardware from in there i discovered there are some holes that i don't think belong. they are approximately 1 inch in diameter and are just above and to the right of the throttle pedal. someone put freeze plugs in there and sealed them with sealer.......i'm thinking it must have had under the dash A/C at some point. this is a factory 400 / 4 speed car if that makes any difference???? oh yeah, you guys don't know of anybody making repro wheel lip mouldings for this car do you?........didn't think so.

A photo of the offending holes might help...

Laysons makes repro WOMs, and there is another company I can't remember at the moment.

just to the right of and below the throttle cable you'll see i put red X's on the ends of the freeze plugs currently in the offending holes. also if you look directly below the throttle cable just before the floorpan seam i painted a red arrow to the small hole i presume was a drain tube hole for an aftermarket A/C system maybe??????

that would be my guess, an aftermarket a/c system. Here is a picture of my 73 firewall if it helps. Image

Looks to be what you guessed, an After Market AC system.

You have a wire to the right of your firewall wiring plug, would that be for the tach by any chance or do you know what it's for?

yep that wire is for the 4 speed. i haven't gotten everything out yet to paint. i just dropped the K frame tonight and plan to take it to my automotive machine shop and get it hot tanked for painting.......saves a lot of elbow grease and it's relatively cheap. this is my first time doing a total front end rebuild on a rubber mounted K frame. i bought the just suspension poygraphite K frame bushings, but i don't know for sure if i'm supposed to use all the factory shims on the rear bushings or not.....does anybody here know for sure? maybe i'll call JS tomorrow and see what they tell me on that......i need to get this thing back to rolling by the end of the weekend.
