I dont know much about these trannies. Can this be used in a 4 speed console car or are there problems with the linkage. I can get one from a later model truck for $100.

Although I have no first hand experience, I would imagine the floor hump would have to be seriously modified for clearance, and I doubt the bosses for the shifter are in the same place as the original (or are you talking about an automatic?)

Its an 833 od trans. I think it came out of an early 80's truck. It has both mounts on the tail shaft like the earlier b and e body trans. From looking at it,it seems to have everything in the right spot. These trans are cheaper then the earlier models. Just wondering if anyone has used one of these trans successfully. Thanks

hmm...i had one in my old dodge pickup and (yes, it is a truck) but it didn't have any power at all (especially in 4th gear)...granted, 6 months after i gave it to my brother tho, it spun a bearing...but i think it's just the junk inside that's different (the ratios of the gears) to make it a 4 speed OD instead of just a 4 speed...i think i'm thinkin right

Stock ones won't hold up behind a big block.

Check out Passon Performance for info on 833 OD transmissions.
