This should put an end to any question as to what Holley 4160-series 4-barrel carburetor your 1972 440HP powered Road Runner GTX or Charger Rallye should have on it and will clarify the factory typos/errors on the parts listings:

#6252 440HP 4-speed (I need one of these)

#6253 440HP Automatic (I have a couple of these)

#6254 440HP 4-speed w/Air Grabber/Ramcharger hood

#6255 440HP Automatic w/Air Grabber/Ramcharger hood

#6256 440HP 4-speed w/California emissions

#6257 440HP Automatic w/California emissions

#6258 440HP 4-speed w/California emissions and Air Grabber/Ramcharger hood

#6259 440HP Automatic w/California emissions and Air Grabber/Ramcharger hood

#6160 440LP

#6290 440LP w/ California Emissions

(the last two carbs are the ones you commonly see being pawned off as "GTX or Charger 440 carbs"...they are NOT correct, and are basically what would be found on lo-po Chryslers, etc. with the base 440LP, in other words, there are a ton of them out there)

Hey 1972 Road Runner GTX,
Curiously, are you looking for this carb to be “numbers correct” on the list number stamping? Even back then that 4160 series Holley had a notorious reputation for being unreliable. Especially on those c-body 440 apps; as they tended to run higher under hood temps. Warped metering blocks, warped throttle bodies, and caps pressed into the fuel supply that leaked that many times resulted in under hood fires. As I recall, back then there was retrofit kit sold through Chrysler parts to replace them with a Carter AVS. Got to a point where the dealer I worked for wouldn’t touch them, only option was replacement. On cars a year or two old mind you. I’ll bet I’ve s*** canned a bunch of those 4160s back in the day. Good luck in your search.

Yes, I want a #6252 carb for my car, I am looking for a numbers-correct carb. I don't care about the condition as It will be rebuilt/restored anyway.
