Color for RR grille?

Post by billzilla » Tue Jan 29, 2008 11:17 pm

What's the appropriate paint color for the grille, and does the whole thing get painted? Is there a leading edge in argent?

I know scads of people do Sat to RR conversions - anyone do a GTX? Is it easier without all the RR decals and such?

paint for the road runner and GTX grill should look like my sig. pic. Satellites had all silver grills. I'd say it would be more difficult to clone a GTX, as finding the correct rocker moldings isn't easy and can be costly, then there's the chrome tail light bezels, the GTX grill emblem, and the correct GTX emblem for the dash. None of these items to my knowledge are available as reproductions.

argent in 71-2......73 and 4 i think i've seen some argent ones, but mostly always black

the chrome taillight bezels are hard to come by...i have one and everytime i find one on ebay or whatever i don't have the cash to burn on one, but when i've got the money, i spend it on something else :D

anyway a roadrunner repop would be easier, but i think you could make a satty look like a x but not fool a mopar guy...maybe do a GTX decal on the dash....i've seen some emblems on ebay for the 71 Xs, but not sure of quality or anything like that, and if you're basically going for looks and not a "restoration" it doesn't really matter (in my opinion)

theres my .02

Has anyone had any of those bezels rechromed. I have about 6-7 of them and was thinking of trying to get the worse ones redone to see how it comes out.

The chrome bezels for a 71 , there is a left and a right. They're only on gtx and ssp's. Boy they are hard to find.
