I've got two questions to ask you here.

Why do I see on some of the 71-72 b-body's no licence holders?

On the winsor built cars in 71 where are the built in Canada stickers go

I know that on the 72 cars the sticker went on the door with the Vin sticker.

I'm guessing you mean front plate holders? If so, not every state required (or requires for that matter) front plates. I'd expect that dealerships in most states that didn't require them simply didn't install them.

Personally, that's the FIRST thing I do to any 71 that comes into my ownership is pull that stupid plate holder off. I have it directly from the mouth of the man who designed these cars (John Herlitz) that the cars were designed to only look "right" WITHOUT the plate. :)

I agree, they look like crap with the front plate holder....but on my survivor car, I'm not removing anything!!! Also agree that installed or not would be based on the state where the car was sold new.

I must admit that the cars do look slightly better without a front license plate, unfortunately I need one here in Denmark.

If Herlitz really said that the cars were designed to look right only without the front plates, I just lost some respect for the guy! Designing a car from that perspective knowing that many of the cars would be needing a front license plate, would be rather irrational.
I my oppinion the cars should ofcourse be designed with the aim to look great in both situations, with or without a front license plate. Actually accomplishing this is probably difficult but it ought to be their goal.

Just my 2 cents
