I asked a question somewhat like yours in October, and found that my 71 Road runner came with 14x6. I do not know about the offset. Eric was very helpful decoding the wheel section of my buildsheet.

Depends on which wheels your car came with, rallye's could be optioned in either 14 or 15" sizes, road wheels were 14", and then there were the plain steel wheels. You'd need the broadcast sheet to know what wheels the car came with originally.

Dont have a Runner.....15" Wheels, the widest they came stock with works....I mainly was concerned with the offset. I posted somewhere else on copcar rims.

Answer was 15X7 With 4.5" offset

Eric - is this for Roadrunners and GTXs as well (i.e., did some GTXs come with steel wheels?) I have a 71 GTX with some N50 x 15s on some old slot mags (it's been sitting in a garage for the past 30 years or so), and I'd like to start looking for some original wheels. Haven't found the buildsheet for the car, but haven't really looked for it yet, either.

Scott, yes some GTX's came with body color steel wheels. I know this because I have one. The size is 14x6 and they are a bear to find as Eric can attest to. Although I'm not sure, I would assume that hemi cars would come with 15x7's standard.

Yes the 14x6 plain steel wheels are almost impossible to find (I still need two of them to put my +6 car back to stock). If your car wasn't optioned originally with the 14x6s originally, I'd go with 15x7 plain steel....they're much easier to find!
If anyone has any of these 14x6 (not to be confused with the more common 14x5.5) plain steel wheels you don't need, send them my way!

Guess I'll have to go hunting for the build sheet when I get back. I'm also looking for a set of 14x6s for a 70 Ram Air IV GTO; you can find the dog dish hubcaps (they're reproduced, too), but having a hard time tracking down the wheels.

Thanks for the info,

Scott

I bought a set of 14x6 steel wheels from Classic Chambered. Although I did receive them in good condition, they took a looooooooooooong time to come. I'm talking around 6 months after I paid for them. He doesn't have this size in stock and his supplier has to go hunting among thousands of wheels to find them. If you don't mind this, then you'll have no trouble with Classic Chambered.

I'm still waiting for him to find me a pair of 14x6s. It's been about a year!

That looks like a good site when I 1st saw this topic pop up I did a google search and that site came up pretty early in my search.

I'm going to need to replace two of my rallye wheels since when I bought my car it had a set of 15x7 rallyes in the trunk but my brother-in-law's brother talked me out of 2 of them to put on the back of his '70 roadrunner that had 14" rallye wheels on it. He drove around for about 2 yrs with them then he went and sold his car without giving my 2 15" ones back or even paying for them.
