Rear Quarters

Post by luvmoparz » Tue Nov 20, 2007 11:56 pm

Anyone got the skinny on this subject? Are they in production, for sale or what?

I have been out of the loop for a few months as i have been working 500 miles away from home. I did get to cruise Hot August nights in Reno this year though. I found a Satellite near work, gonna use it as a driver and something to do in the evenings after work and want to replace the quarters and some other trouble areas before throwing a decent paint job on it. Its pretty rough right now but fairly sound mechanically and electrical wise. Wish I had my 440 down here sometimes, but the gas would be a killer

Answered my own question. Autobody Specialties swear that they will be released in February---of course seeing is believing. He told me they will have front and rear rear quarters (mid wheelwell back and midwheelwell forward) they will cost $99-$129 each. Later in year they are supposed to release entire quarter panels.

Layson's has been saying "This spring" for the past 3+ years...

Goodmark said possibly in a year or two...

I heard AMD was coming out with them next year...

...Am I missing anyone else??

Yes, AMD next year....from what I've seen from them I wouldn't bother with anyone else.

www.autometaldirect.com ....not much of a website yet though

Ryan, last I talked with them was August at the Nats. At that time, it seemed they'd have the prototypes by early spring and ready to sell by mid/late summer.

They are now becoming available. Check your favorite AMD vendor.

I've spoken with several different companies but have not spoken with AMD directly over the phone yet. Go on eBay and one company has started selling the re-produced quarters for $720. I can't remember the other company that told me they had just received the shipment the week before I called them.
