I just picked up a 727 that is supposed to be from a 70 RoadRunner. Can anyone verify what it is I've got, as I'm a manual only owner. The numbers are:

PK35 15368 3975 4742

Thanks,

P.G.

Do you need to know if it's from a 1970 Road Runner, or just if it's a 727 (vice 904)? If the latter, you can google this. The answer lies in the shape of the trasmission pan. Or you can check out the gasket picture in this link:

Eew, Car Craft, but I grew up with that stupid Chevy mag until the Mopar mags came out in wider circulation:

Me: Pardon me, ma'am, but I'm tired of buying Car Craft. Do you have the magazine, "Performance (not Mopar Performance, because that's copyrighted) for Classic High Performance Chrysler Car Friends and Collectors, etc., etc."?

Clerk: I don't know what you're talking about, kid. I think I'm gonna call the cops. How about Hot Rod, there's less Chevy stuff in there...

Me: Cool! I'll take it!

What are the numbers stamped into the VIN pad on the passenger side of the bell housing?

I'll get the VIN tonight and let you know.

I reread the part number, it's PK35 15868 3975 4742

I was told this makes it from a 72 440 RoadRunner.
