You have the 72 V code car right? Do you see any evidence of having had GTX emblems? Just curious whether they considered that one a GTX, or only the U code cars.....

Hello All

I dug up this thread about GTX emblem placement after seeing a recent thread about SSP emblem locations
There was a post by SSPJeff of Maryland Mopars in the thread with a scan from a 1972 Factory Parts Catalog that gave dimensions for the emblems for Road Runners, GTX's and Satellites.

I found this thread several years ago, but didn't have sense to print it out when I found it, and couldn't find it again until just now. The Link to the scan of the catalog page is broken, but I'm hoping that SSPJeff may still be active and see this or that someone else may have access to the catalog mentioned in his post.

Thanks for your help.

Just throwing this out: This site is a fantastic resource for our old rust buckets, second only to the factory service manuals.

These should be the pages posted originally from the ’72 parts catalog used by some to position some badging, in my experience incorrectly. The parts manuals were designed only to locate the general placement of parts for the purpose of identifying part numbers. In many cases the proportions and locations did not match actual design locations. Engineering diagrams would be used to precisely locate the intended positioning of badging and graphics as was designed.

Thanks.
It was the engineering drawing. It dimensioned the locations of the emblems. Thanks for the scans, though and Happy new year.

SSPjeff never posted engineering diagrams on this thread as I recall, just the parts catalog diagrams. What model diagrams are you looking for, Satellite or Road Runner?

Then here is the engineering diagram that supporst the A/G equipped call outs that appear not to be listed in the parts catalog as pointed out by SSPjeff in this old thread.Image
again, will need to save the jepgs to view the full width of the images.
