I need clearification on the glove box liner. My glove box liner is black. I mostly see them white. Which is right or does it matter?

The liner in my 72 is original, and is kind of a translucent white. Almost see through but not quite.

Maybe it's a mid-year change, or a '71 vs '72 thing, but the original one in my '71 is black.

I have yet to find a 71 B, early mid or late build with anything other than a black glove box insert...

So, sounds like a '71, '72 thing, eh? And now are all the repops white?

I don't know 72s that well. Anyone have an original 72 with a black liner?

I've only seen the white repop ones, or even an original one, never a black one. My box dont need to be replaced but I thought I'd ask.

Can you tell me who carries the white re-pops? Mine is useable, but really badly rust stained (not sure why) and it wont clean off.

It would be nice to have a not so ugly one.

you can use a fine steel wool to clean the rust marks off yours ( I had the same problem whare the hinge bolts on steel wool fixed me right up)

I'll try the steel wool, but I'm not just talking about the hinge area.
Most of the inside of the box is covered in rust stains. It almost looks like someone used it for a bolt bin at some point in its life.
