Time delay ignition light

Hi guys,

I was wondering if any of you had ever had problems with the time delay not turning off the small light by the ignition switch?

Mine stays on constantly and my first thought was a faulty timer device. So... I changed it out twice with one of them being the working unit from the Cuda. The light still stays on constantly.

As near as I can see, the light gets direct power right from the timer via a single yellow hot wire, so I don't understand what else could be wrong if not timer. I've test lighted all 3 delay switches, and it never shuts off.
For now, I've just unplugged it.

Any ideas?

CHECK drivers side door switch- there will be 2 or 3 wires- check them- bet one is grounding out in the switch or is touching the frame!!!!

Thanks lots for the suggestion yesterday.

I pulled the door switch out as soon as I got home, and didn't find that any wires were touching the body. However, there was a slight bend in the movable post in the door switch. I straightened it out, and the problem was instantly solved.

I think the bend was enough that one of the three wires was maybe touching the switch and completing the circuit for the ignition light. Oddly enough it wasn't making the dome light come on, which is why I think only one of the wires was touching.

Once again, many thanks!!!

Welcome Dave

one wire is for the dome light, other is for the timed delay and the other is for the key in the ign. buzzer!!
