4 speed column

I am thinking about switching from an auto on the floor to a 4 speed, Are the columns the same or is there a difference between the floor shifted auto and 4 speed columns?

You didn't say what car. My 1972 came with a floor shift/console automatic. (slap stik shifter) If I want to put a four speed on the floor the hump on the floor pan is a different piece (different part #) to give the extra room for the shift mechanism. You can’t just drop a four speed floor shift in and use the same holes in the floor or the console. I’m sure you could fabricate something, but I never have done it so can’t speak from experience.fourforty6pac wrote:I am thinking about switching from an auto on the floor to a 4 speed, Are the columns the same or is there a difference between the floor shifted auto and 4 speed columns?
