Hood Scoops

Post by 440RR » Tue Oct 17, 2006 9:04 am

I was wondering if anyone is running an aftermarket hood scoop on a 71-74 Roadrunner. If so, could you post some pictures of how they look on the cars? Thanks!

I assume you're talking about the air grabber hood. Stinger makes repops of them.

Actually, I am talking about any hood scoop. I am having to use a Holley Street Dominator because of hood clearance issues, and was wondering if there was an aftermarket scoop out there that would look good. I was thinking of buying a flat hood, and then cutting it for a scoop.

Yup, i think the only way to do it is to get one of the fiberglass ones, mold it on seamless and paint it if u need a scoop...a 69-style six pack would look pretty sweet i think

6 pak scoop

Post by CtownRunner » Tue Oct 17, 2006 9:47 pm

I have in my storage barn a one piece fiberglass flat hood with the 6 pack scoop. Still in primer it is low on my list of things to do with the car, but one of these days!

I forget the name but it was made in Florida by a company that still makes lots of fiberglass parts for Mopars.

I had a parts list from last years Nats and checked the web site but they do not make the one piece unit anymore.

You can get a scoop and hood and bond them together.

I saw a 72 Satellite with one a few yrs ago and it was awesome!

Go for it.
