I just put headers on my 71 satellite with a 383 and a column shifter, the headers block the stock linkage location, is there a easy fix for this? Other than adding a floor shifter.

Floor shift is the way most people go- However....
I did see one guy split the cross bar section ( the one that is interfering now) and he welded ina bigger hoop/ offset of metal to clear the header. No real "easy" fix.

on my small block car I flipped the linkage upside down and cut and welded the bracket- I am sure you can make something up.

I have the colum shift, 440 and Dynomax ceramic coated headers and had the same problem. I was originally going to order the linkage adapter from Tube Technologies Inc. since I ordered their 3" header back exhaust, but back then they had problems with their adapter not working. I had to flip the linkage upside down as mentioned above. It required a little bit of bending the bracket that mounts to the frame as well as mounting it upside down, but it works perfectly flawless and has been that way for years now. It took a little bit of adjusting as well, because at first it wasn't lining up properly on the colum selector and was a little clunky changing gear selections, but has been smooth and accurate as new since. So just flip it over and see how much you need to bend the bracket and go to it.

Do you have any pictures of what this should look like?
