What determines if a 72 RR has the braces from the fenders to the firewall?
Thanks,Dave

Probabaly how much the engineers saw the 71's fenders flopping around without them..LOL
I don't know- but I added them onto my 71 after I saw how much flexing was going on with the 1.00" t-bars.

I thought all 72's get them no matter what engine size.
I guy I know that has the 1972 RR/GTX 440 4v N96 sunroof 4-speed car said that N96 cars did not get these braces (he should know since his car is an awards winning car at Nationals and Carilse).
Having said that my 72' RR 400 4v car N96 optioned has them ...added on or original ...I do not know.

Mine is missing the 2 bolts where they attach to the fender but there is no hole on the firewall.

I added them to mine, and had to bend them to clear the fiberglass AG hood that seals to the base plate. I just drilled a hole where they "wanted" to be, and used a bolt and Nyloc nut and washers.
On the ones I have seen factory equipped, there was stud on the firewall in the middle and just under the cowl.

No that's not true. 72 400 4-speed cars N96 cars came with the bars. My 72 roadrunner, air grabber had them. I still have a copy of the broadcast sheet saying that the car was an air grabber car from the factory.
