I'm afraid I can't help with that one. I've not seen a stripe like than on an original car yet, and none of the factory documentation I have shows it. My guess would be that a previous owner added it. Remember, the original reflective stripes didn't last too long, and someone might have had one made up by a local shop to replace the original.
