....it's hard to make them look right in such a big wheelwell

Well at least from the side the G70-14 have the same diameter as the G60-15's. that's per the Kelsey Tires website. They are however about 1.5 inches narrower.

yup and the f78 14 tires are about the same as the g70 14 tires..supposedly about the same width and diameter, but the g70 looks bigger for some reason...still, that's a 27" diam. tire on a 14" rim, so about 6" of rubber showing all around the wheel

No landon, it wasn't me. I made Carlisle the 1st year I completed the resto, which was in '03. Otherwise it stays in NY.

I would like to reply to the "Pimped out" statement.

I put an airgrabber on my car...... because I have always wanted one but never found a car with one. They could be ordered when new.

I put the front and back stripes on my car..... because I thought they would be cool and I wanted my car to be very different. They also could be ordered to come with a car from the factory.

I think pimped is 20 inch wheels and fuzzy interior with a monster stereo system in the trunk to annoy everyone.

I think we should not be afraid to alter our cars to be what we want them to be. It really does not take away from the value of the car. If I could have afforded to buy a car equiped like mine is now 5 years ago...I would have.

Don't get me wrong, one of the only things not original on my 70 RR is the 15 inch ralleye rims. It came originally with 14 steel wheels (if I can get them back I will). I will never modify this car because it would affect the value, but most of all it would affect my enjoyment of the car(it's already perfect). Which is what matters the most.

I hope this makes sense. I just don't want to feel inferior because I made my car the way I like it.

have you seen my car???...i LOVE the plain ones, because that's how they were originally supposed to be, but the way mine looks, you wouldn't think so  but, when i get the money, it'll be pretty much back to stock, except the drivetrain, which by the time that comes around, i'll probably have to put an electric or steam powered motor in that baby

oh no, it's fine...i really like the striped-out A/G, resonated tip, 6pak, rallye wheeled, spoilered cars with body color bumperes but i just really like the plain ones, cuz it's kind of a sleeper look and what the 68 set-out to create.

BUT, since i started with a car that looked like this when i got it, i was kind of bored of the blue with taillamp stripes (kept hood black for the old school look), so i added the RTS stripes...i had some dents and scratches, chips i needed to take care of on the front fenders and rear quarters, so that stripe worked perfect...the sidepipes are takin a hike pretty soon, though, and god i need bigger tires (taller, not wider)

YES, those are fuzzy wool seat covers and hippie beads on teh rearview mirror...i went all out with teh 70s after i got her
