The one currently on E-bay states it's for '71 RR/Charger. I wonder if the guy's just saying that because only 1971s originally had them. Anyone know if the rear window glass/surrounding area is the same between '71-'74 Road Runners, or for that matter, Chargers? I want them for my '73 RR.

So let me get this straight...fourforty6pac wrote:The glass and the SS trim are the same but the rear window louvers are different between the dodges and plymouths. they sell different ones for dodge and plymouths you have to tell them which ones you need.
a) this E-bay vendor makes BOTH Plymouth and Dodge types, and
b) even if I got the wrong one, it would still technically fit
Is that correct? Thanks for your help.

Yea, that's the one I'm talking about. All the b bodies share the same rear lite (glass) and stainless trim. The difference between Dodge and Plymouth is the roof line and area where the roof meets the dutchman (between trunk and rear lite) and the upper part of the rear quarter. The difference is fairly minimal and It probably would be possible to fit the dodge louvers to a plymouth, but why go through the extra work unless the 73 and 74 are a closer match to the lines on the charger. Chances are your going to have to do some trimming to the louver frame to get a decent fit anyway. Don't forget this is an after market piece, there's always some extra work needed. I'll be getting a set of louvers for my car as soon as I get a couple of other things that are higher on the list.patrick wrote:I'm talking about the big single rear window above the deck lid, not the rear side windows.
Yes, there is a source for the rear window louvers for both plymouth and dodge B-bodies, Gene Gregory (the same guy repoping the front elastomeric bumper eyebrow). He's the one who advertises on ebay. I have a buddy who bought one for his 71 runner, and the fit is factory original. They are basically a three piece deal. The center section is the same for all, but the ends are different for dodge and plymouth models. Do not buy the ones from Dayclona, I hear the quality isn't that good.
Side window louvers...I know of no one reproducting these. Even if they were, they only came on 73 and later Chargers IIRC. The side windows are different between chargers and Plymouth Bs, so I'm not sure how you'd make them work. Also, I've only seen them on vinyl top cars, and if you did make them fit, I don't think they'd look very good on a plymouth.

i've done some drawings and i think they'd look good, esp if you just custom-made some...but i'm kinda tired of having to "make" parts for vehicles, and i don't know how i'd even start...mk, yes i do, but too complex for me...might be able to make them out of metal, though...that'd be easier (maybe)
