yup, that's what guys do that want strobe stripes on cars that didn't originally come that way and they don't want to do any body or paint work to fill in the holes

Eric, do you know when the adhesive-backed emblems came in? Was that on any of the '71s or strictly later years?

I believe the change over was later years, but I wouldn't say I know for sure.
