I "attempted" to use the Andover belts in my 74 RoadRunner. The retractor that anchors behind the lower rear interior panel (inside the unibody) would not clear and I was unable reattach the lower panel. I did not want to butcher the panel and IIRC couldn't mount the retractor on the outside (cabin side) of the panel. Ended up selling the belts (at a loss) on Moparts. Total waste of time and Andover was of little (if any) help.

I inquired with SnakeOyl about rebuilding my 74 belts and they would not touch them claiming no parts available.

If I were attempt this again, I would probably try to use N body Dakota pieces and then, only if they were free!

What I ended up doing, was using 1973 model year shoulder straps with a 74 male end stitched on and secured it to the car like a shoulder strap. The original 74 issused belts were left in place.

My original belts tend to "jam" and will not always work without a struggle.

I run the XV belts on mine. I believe they are made by Andover.

Anyway, they fit okay. The receiver side is a VERY tight fit between the seat and the console.

Also, the roof anchor is quite far back, so its a pretty good reach to grab the belt.

471 Magnum,

That is exactly what I'm looking for on my Roadrunner.

Couple of questions:

1. Do the retractors mount in the stock position behind and outside of each seat?

2. Does the top part mount use the stock anchor hole?

My inside anchor has also been a tight fit, and it seems to depend on fore/aft seat position. At my height it apparently is the "tight" location!

For now I just left the shoulder harness out.
