Outside mirror

Post by roelbest » Mon Oct 08, 2007 4:21 pm

Is it possible for a RR to have no outside mirrors? My '72 440 has mirrors on both sides, but there are no mention on the buildsheet, only a ' 1' ticked in the box for inside mirror.
I guess they were added later?
thanks

I don't think it was possible since the gov't required at least the left mirror. Now don't ask how it breaks down inthe build sheet- no clue.
since we're on the subject, ( and not to hijack the thread) but has anyone seen the remote controlled passenger side mirror?

The non-rallye drivers mirror was standard on these cars. If it's not coded otherwise, that's what you'd have (and you have no mirror codes on the fender tag)

I had to look for one also. The first on I bought looked good until I tried it on the door. Be careful I have two here and both of them the base is warped. Didn't know white metal did this. Anyhow I did find one in Carlisle this past summer with the base straight.

I think there is one on ebay right now but it has studs? Mine has screws, maybe someone on this board will know why.
