Dash Pad Covers??
Has anyone opted to try a dash pad cover rather than replace or refurbish? If so, did it fit right? Does it look good?
My pad has one vertical split right over the left edge of the glove box door and is otherwise in good shape. I'm not at the point where I want to take it out.

Re: Dash Pad Covers??
I have a friend who used one on a 71 charger, same dash, and honestly it looked pretty good. He cut away the area around the cracks then sprayed some of that expanding spray foam insulation from the hardware store, after it set up he shaved it back down to level with the surrounding area and made several test fits and had to cut some off the original pad around ends to make it lay down good but when he glued it down it looked good i guess like a lot of things extra time and effort during preparation yielded a nice result

Thanks - that's good info. I ordered one today direct from Coverlay. $62.43 + $14.74 S+H. I almost bought on ebay for $62 + ~$50 shipping. Watched a video about install right on the listing and decided to check Coverlay direct. 43 cents more on the pad, $35 less on shipping. Tough decision. Will post results pics.
Re: Dash Pad Covers??
I bought one from Hardens about 5 years ago painted it, installed it and have been happy with the results. My original dash pad was so bad I had to buy a used one for the cover to be right. But still 4 to 5 Hundred cheaper than just dashes

Re: Dash Pad Covers??
Rick, I think you are going to have to describe your question a little better - I am not sure what you are asking.
Thanks,
Scott.

If looking for a good, quality dash pad, get a hold of abcmoparts.com and be done. Customer service is top notch, etc.

Re: Dash Pad Covers??
IMOP, I wouldn't get a cover. In the heat, they'll warp or the craftsmanship isn't very good. Save some money, if that's the issue, and get a recovered one or have your original done. You'll be glad you did.

Re: Dash Pad Covers??
I used a cover. It's been on for five years now, and it did warp a bit in the center, but thanks to an unscrupulous shop owner the car sat in the Florida sun and heat for over three years without being opened up. The little warp was there when I retrieved the car about 18 months ago, and it hasn't gotten any worse now that the car is closed up all the time.
