Can someone show me the tachometer cable (grommet) location on the fire wall.
Can't find the hole anymore.. Possibly welded shut..
Thanx!

The Tach was electric, no cable. Or do you mean speedometer.

There is no hole, the wire from the tach is plugged in to the bulkhead connector. Then you pick up the connection from the engine bay. If you look at a wiring diagram you should see it.

If you look at the link above, you will see the grommet that guides the wire trough the fire wall.
It isn't in the main connector!

I don't know what that is but if I remember its position #20 on the wiring diagrams. I'm not home right now, maybe tomorrow I could take a picture of the page from the shop manual. I just finished my car and that's how it was wired. No holes. The wire that connects in the bulkhead connector gets picked up on the engine side and goes to the coil. That's the only wire from that side. I bought my harness from a guy on ebay. Maybe the one year one sells is one you can retro fit if your car did not come with a tach. I had to break apart the bulkhead connector on the inside to insert the end into the plastic assembly. So if you have a shop manual check the wiring diagrams.

I found on the internet this pic that shows the dash wiring and also the single wire from the engine side to the coil

Here I got my son to take a picture. I'm posting two, one shows the wiring from the dash and other from the bulkhead connector on the engine side. My finger is pointing to it. Hope this helps.

Thanx so far, Bud my GTX has the tach from the factory.
#20 is AC clutch.. I don't have any pins open!
Before I took it apart, I know the wire came out of the fire wall somewhere.

Interesting, I've never worked on a car that had both so maybe in those circumstances they did as you suggested. Maybe someone else will add some comments to this.
