Correct Trim Rings
Incase nobody has noticed, correct brushed trim rings for the 71/72's are not available from any source, unless you luck up on some NOS ones. So here is what I did, I took some polished rings, and mounted one on a bare wheel on the rear axle. I had the boy start the car, and let it spin while in 1st gear. I took some 150 grit sand paper and held it in place while the wheel turned, and you know, it turned out pretty good. Was easy. This is the easiest way to get the proper brushed look with out paying through the nose for NOS.

Re: Correct Trim Rings
Sorry, I didn't take a before picture. But here is one of after. I may, or may not have it just right, but it's a lot more correct than they were. Whats dangerous? You put jack stands under the rear end, and spin it. Probably wasn't going over 5 or 10 mph.We did worse than that when these cars were new. Like cards or in the spokes on our bicycles.
