Power steering conversion from manual

Post by gerardbar1 » Wed Aug 28, 2013 8:09 pm

I have a 74 roadrunner with a 340. It has headers. I want to convert to power steering. What parts do I need besides the box. The pump, pulleys brackets and hoses. Any advice on what I should get and where I should get them. Do I need to remove my headers to take out the steering box. Can I use the same column shaft. What year make and model are the steering parts comparable with

Only recommendation I can provide here is that there IS a difference between the Power steering column shaft and the Manual steering shaft. Find an actual Power steering column from a 1974 model. All you really need is the internal shaft. This can be swapped with your manual shaft in your current column.
