trailer towing package

Post by dangina » Fri Aug 10, 2012 1:34 am

I seen that these were available back in the day - was wondering if anyone on here has one and what it looks like on the car? Also does anyone still make these for our cars? I have a old fiberglass canadian boler I want to paint to match the runner so the wife and i can tow it on road trips!

I know some of the owners manuals gave a diagram to build a trailer hitch. What is a boler? Now what would make a good package would be a Chrysler Valiant outboard runabout boat with a Chrysler outboard motor on it. I had a friend that had one.

I don't know about the towing package, but I have a hitch that was installed at the dealership. I don't plan on putting it back on the car.

usually towing package means just adding a hitch, sometimes wiring as well..

Does anyone have that diagram? that would be great too - a boler is a small 13' fiberglass trailer, from 1971-1987 i beleive - built here in canada, its awesome! it only weighs 900 lbs (1250 fully loaded) you can pull it with anything (went to colorado and back using my 06 subaru to tow it - you didn't even know it was there) it has a big master bed thats just over 6'3 long (which is good as I'm at 6'1, I can stand in the trailer without the roof touching my head. It has a sink, fridge and furnace. and the front bench tuns into a bunk bed for the kids. here is some pics of what the look like (sorry I don't have any pics of mine yet)

I know that the 69 B bodies owners manual had that digram. But it was only a bumper hitch. Now it was a very good bumper hitch, my dad did one using that digram on a 69 dodge coronet.

I don't have any plans to put it back on my car. I used to tow a boat that weighed about 2000 lbs.
( I uploaded pic, but it seems to have disappeared) PM me.

As you can see above, the towing package was n/a on a road runner, but much if it is standard RR equipment.

Wow it added alot more than I thought for the tow package, I never took into consideration the extra suspension to go along with it. Thanks for sharing! very cool.
