Steering column mount question

Post by GTXS » Thu Apr 19, 2012 12:01 am

I am trying to find out if there is a difference in the under dash mounting brackets between the floor shifted and column shifted columns. The reason I'm asking is because I sold a tilt column to someone and when it is mounted with the floor shifted column mount it is about 4 inches too short because the holes on the column sleeve are 4 inches closer to the coupler end. I am hoping that it is a simple fix like just getting a mount from a column shifted car. I am also thinking that a later b body mount from a 75 up tilt column might work. Thanks in advance.

Brackets are the same for both the floor and column shift columns. As matter of fact, in the 72’ parts cat. shows the same bracket part number is specified for the b-body tilt column application.
