Gas problems after fresh 360 magnum swapp

Post by magnumsebring » Sat Nov 05, 2011 7:05 am

New guy -- hello everyone!
Just put a fresh 360 Magnum in my 72 B body I been putting together- runs great has Hughes top end new style
Serpetine belt off the 01 Ram it came out of
but now I see I have rust in the fuel filter- I have swaped out a few filters and even put a second site glass by the carb and rust in the gas keeps coming- Any comments on which way I should go? If I need to replace the tank and lines and vaperizer in front of the tank who handles these parts?
Thanks Greg

I've had similar problems, remove sending unit and verify that the filter is on the end of pickup.

And make sure it's in good shape. Replace if in doubt, you may have to go aftermarket as Mopar has cancelled some of these.

If it's missing enough "stuff" will get picked up by your in-line filter to make you think you need a new tank.

Even good used tanks have some amount of debris in them. Let us know what you find

pulled tank-
good thing I did it was a rust bucket-
picked up a new tank and sending unit on ebay $200-for both delivered
May need a fuel filler neck- mine has some rust which I can remove but concerned it will return
also may need to replace fuel line
The tank had more rust than the whole car (almost)
Anyone have a extra filler neck?
Thanks
