' 72 Roadrunner fuel lines

Is it best to get the correct fuel/vapor lines for my 440 Roadrunner from Year One?
Anyone else that can supply this?

Fine Lines and Inline Tube as well as a couple other vendors carry them, probably at a lower price than Year One.

I live about 35 minutes from Inline Tube. Great guys, and the place is run very well. They offer OEM & S.S. fuel lines, and they are ready to install. I put in a new fuel pump last year, and the line needed to be replaced. My brother just bought all new fuel lines for his 73 Charger. I would highly recommend this place. http://www.inlinetube.com/

Received the lines from Inline. Now I need a bit of help. I have the old ones I took off, the fuel is 3/8, but both the fuel return and vapor lines are 1/4.
The new lines are 3/8 fuel, 1/4 fuel return and 5/16 vapor. I have looked in YO catalogue as well, they all give the diameters as I have now received. I guess it will not make any difference if the new vapor line is 5/16, that must be correct?
Now, the 2nd question. As you can see in the pic, the vapor line goes somewhere up above the tank/ It was not attached to anything when I got the car. Where does it connect to, or does it just ends to let the vapor out. Must say the vapor line from Inline looks completely different at the rear end, it looks like it is going across from pass side to drivers side above the fuel tank?

In 72 the vapor line when to a seperator mounted on the shock mount crossover above and forwrd of the gas tank. In 71 the vapor line crossed over to the drivers side where it connected to a seperator mont behind the rear wheel.

The 71' wheel well mounted fuel tank vapor separator carried through until around April 72', or well into 72' production, before being moved to the shock support forward of the fuel tank. Where is your vapor sep. mounted now? IIRC, my repo vapor line came bent to run to the wheel well, I cut it off and reshaped to accommodate my later shock support mounted vapor separator.

Thanks, yes my car was built June'72.
Doug, I'll do the same and cut it off, I include a pic of what was left of the canister, only a bracket. BTW, is there any place where I'l be able to find a canister?

That first picture appears to be of the passenger side tailpipe hanger not a vapor separator bracket. The mounting bracket for the later vapor sep. is centered on the shock support facing rearwards towards the fuel tank. The second picture is your car? It has the fuel tank separator installed. It will have a fifth hose nipple on top that the vapor line connects to.

Thanks Doug, I am actually quite embarressed, must be the cold English weather combined with my age!! Yes, the canister you see is on my car,I fitted it about a year ago. Climbed underneath today and the 5 the nipple with the hose attached is there, it was just not visible from underneath

I shall now cut the '71 vapor pipe the correct length as you have done.
