sebring plus paint

Post by landon1 » Fri Dec 30, 2005 10:11 pm

Hi
I have a 71 SSP, and was wondering if you guys think I should have it two-toned like original. When I got the car, it was painted black. It was originally B5 Blue with GW3 white two tone and top. Right now it is painted the Mopar Intense Blue Pearl, because it is the closest I could afford. So the question is "should I get the white top and lowers added to my car?" Also, does anybody know if the two-toned lower, white in this case would have included the front and rear valances?
Thanks

Personally I would go back to original. You don't see many SSPs restored correctly...most seem to become road runner clones.
....and yes the front and rear valances would be painted the same color as the lower body.

I don't know if the valences get painted or not, but that sure would be a pretty color combination.
Nothing wrong with SS+'s. It's not like you can't upgrade it to the performance items if you want.
4th generation B bodys- there is no substitute.

I'm with Eric, go original...I love my original SSP, so many clones out there, you rarely see a proper SSP. Nice to be different, and keep the history of these cars.

this is what the car looked like when I got it. I actually really liked the stripe, but thought I would paint it blue. Then I figured the stripe wouldn't look so great on blue. I'll try and scan a pic of it now.

Okay, finally got it to scan my car now that it's been painted. That's one of my senior pics. Now, it has the black relective 440 decals, all the SSP emblems, 4 into 1 sidepipes, and rear taillight stripes.
