Thank you 71rr, I appreciate the efforts for sure. I had originally set my sites on those new Cragar Eliminators, for two reasons, 1) The were a brand new design/look, no one has them yet 2) they had the perfect specs for a 15" wheel on this car. BUT I kept looking, I found an amazing price on the BOSS Motorsports 338 wheel in 18", only $138 a wheel for black centers, that's half the price I've seen everywhere else, but this meant new tires cost, just don't want to do that yet, not to mention lowering the suspension some for the right look.

So I came across ION Wheels 625 series, these look a lot like smaller BOSS wheels, but cleaner thatn Cragar SS or Torq Thrusts and for only $160 a wheel, shipped w/lugs, cap, chrome valve stem. I can use the brand new tires I have and the specs were very close, close enough I had to ask first

These wheels/tires are pretty close to what you are doing. 255/60r15s on 15x8, 4.5” backspace on the back. Tires could fit completely up into the well without contact, maybe ½-3/4” clearance at the opening flange and the widest part of the sidewall. Up front, 235/60r15 on 15x7, 4” backspace. Image

a) the 8 inch rims look like the perfect fit for those 255 tires. I cant picture 295's on them that people are saying they have, and..

b) with only 3/4" outside clearance and 4.5 backspacing, that also doesnt sound like enough room for 295's

yet people say they work :?

Ok went ahead and bought the ION Wheels 625 series, 15x7 up front and 15x8 out back. Surprised to find they are coming out of an NC dist center so I may actually have them to put under the tree to me!!

Let's hope I got the specs right and accomplish my goal, will post pics when I get them on, lots of suspension work to do under there first.

Thanks for all the help everyone

Bill

Ok here it is! I will have to grind off just a smidge on the passenger fender lip to ensure no scrub. 4.5 inch backspacing would have been better than the 4.25 but this wheel was not offered with that.

What do you guys think? I love it, I also pulled the broken air shocks and the fitted coild springs that had given it its "jacked" up look previously and fitted new Gabriel Air shocks. Front drums look ugly right now but I have a new disc brake kit I'll be installing in January so for now it'll look ugly
