285/70SR15 clearance in a 71' RR?

Post by pats71 » Wed Aug 12, 2009 11:21 pm

Dad's buddy bought a pair of BFGoodrich T/A Radials to replace the slicks on his 69' Charger, but ended up never using them. Right when we were pulling up he was fixing to throw them away  . So he let me have them  and they still have the blue over the white lettering and have the nubs still there indicating these tires were never used. He bought them 6 months ago so they should be perfectly fine.

The question I'm getting to is if these tires will clear in my 1971 roadrunner? Hard to tell because these cars have such massive rear fender wells. I plan on going with 15x7 steel rims all around topped off with plymouth division dog dish hub caps.

If you go to General Discussion under "72 Satellite" I have a few pics of my car with 285/70/15 with factory 15X7's. As you will see, those tires will fit no problem.
