71 GTX - 2 Broadcast Sheets Found! One Mine, One ?
Taking the interior out of my 71 GTX today and found a broadcast sheet on the back side of the upper back seat for my car. It's about 80% complete; will have to decode later today or tomorrow. It's a 2 fender tag car with original tags in place so I've got most of the info already, but it sure is nice to have that piece of paper.
Pulled out the bottom half of the back seat and found another, but it's not for my car. VIN is WP23L1G161707 - Coronet/Charger 2dr hardtop with 383 2bbl. Looks like Gold Metallic with black vinyl top and black interior.
Both cars were St Louis built; sequence numbers are about 300 apart.
More to follow...

Same thing happened when I did the resto on my '71 RR. I found 3 build sheets. I think one was behind the glove box, in excellent contition, a second, for the same car was under one of the seat cushons and sorta ratty. I believe the third one I found, which was not for my vehicle, was above the fuel tank. I began the resto around 1990, so the details are a little sketchy, but I know one of them was not for my car.

So could your back seat not be stock?

Same thing here as well...............Several years ago I found 2 build sheets in my wifes challenger T/A, one was for a 318 Challenger and the other was for a Challenger T/A (pink 4-speed car) and neither of them were for her car....I tried several years ago to try and find the owner of the pink T/a but had no luck.

Possible, but I doubt it. Sequence number was only about 300 units apart from my car, built at the same plant (St Louis).Smellslike1974 wrote:So could your back seat not be stock?

P6X9 is the code for your interior, black vinyl bucketsbulletpruf wrote: P6 X9 - Trim?

J55 - Undercoat W/heavy duty pad Figured the car had factory or dealer undercoat, but not sure about the heavy duty pad.
V01 designates monotone paint (common to 99.9% GTXs out there)
Y23 code I have listed as "Delete State Code"....can't tell you what this means though
F25 70A battery
car heigh - can't really help you with this
J55 - undercoated cars also came with the underhood pad, that's the heavy duty pad you're asking about (non undercoated cars didn't have the hood pad)
Sounds like a nicely optioned car!
AKA Butterscotch71....the road runner nest is out to win you over this year!
