I don't have a year one catalog with me, but i think the ones your talking about are a little more square. The last time I did a headliner was on a challenger that came to me without a head liner. When I installed the headliner I think I used 8 clips that I had left over from a different project. You could use any clips because they are hidden by the trim. You could use as many as you need to in order to get the headliner to fit properly.

I have bought from this guy before,he has good stuff,so these clips hold the liner between the bows and underneath the mouldings?

My cars have/had about 4 of these clips per side securing the sides of the headliner. I suppose there would be other ways to secure the headliner. I assume the clips would allow some adjustment, as oppose to say gluing.
