That car was restored by Leon Perahia in California. Leon is a big 71 B body guy....but he doesn't do the internet thing so I can't imagine he'll ever be on here. I think he'd be the first to admit that car isn't that correct by today's standards. He also restored a 71 440+6 runner in the 90s, an FE5 with black vinyl top car that was restored with almost all NOS parts. It was much more factory correct. If any of you visited the R/T Specialties tent at Carlisle and talked with a guy with glasses and a mustache wearing a gold cross chain, that was Leon. He'll spend all day talking with you about 71 B bodies....great guy!

Oh, and the resonator thing...it's been discussed before but here goes. They were standard on HEMI cars and only available on 440+6 cars when optioned with the brite tips and the N97 noise reduction package. 440 cars didn't come with them unless it was a factory mistake.

Offtopic: Nick I know you are always looking to see other GY8 GTX and I found this one on e-bay. I know it has been there before I just never bother to decode its fender tag. Seems like it was Gold/gold with gold accents. So either that car has the wrong tag or someone sure went through alot of trouble to make it triple black.

I knew that was Leon's car. I bought parts from him several years back when I began the resto of my "71 RR. Very nice guy, and very knowledgeable.

I always wanted to send him a few photos of my completed ride since he was a big help, but never got around to it. Since he's not on the web that much, I guess I'll just pass for now.

Thanks Eric, but it's been so long now, he wouldn't remember. He was helping me out before the parts availability that the web has brought us. I started collecting parts in '91, when all we had was Hemmings. Thanks though.
