Body filler/glaze

Okay, let's start a question and answer topic I've been researching. . .looking for your opinions on

body fillers and glazes. . .

which do you use and why? What would you recommend for the do it yourselfer?

i wouldn't consider myself an expert, but i used the lightweight filler they had at the store when i bought my paint. i believe it is recommended to use what they sell at the store, as cheaper types require more sanding as they are harder. another thing i heard is that you should prime/seal the car first, then the filler process, and then prime again.

my car looked really amazing after it was painted and for the few years i still had a garage to keep it in - and this car was not lookin so hot when i painted it - above the rear wheel arches, behind the back tires, the front fender and door on passenger side were all kinda beat-up.

now, it's not lookin so great, but it's not because of my body work, it's just because of the IA ice, snow, salt, and sun - it reallydid a number to it over the last couple years...here's a couple pics right after i moved - as you can see, no rust, chips, nicks, dings, faded areas, scratches, etc. i had no idea what i was doing ( i was 16) and it turned out really well and probably would have stayed like this had i been able to keep it garaged - now i get to start all over

Well, I'll have the car's first coat of primer finished soon, still grinding and sanding down some of the sheet metal repairs. The trunk is just about finished and the interior of the car is about ready for paint.

Just asking as I like to plan ahead.

Nice lookin' blue on that car landon, I don't care what Smellslike74 says. ..

it's really not too bad if you take your time - i did mine kinda slow (for me), but idk my body work was decent, but the paint job is what killed it. i shoulda done it myself or taken it somewhere and not let my boss do it, cuz he put it off til the last minute and then did it...oh well, all a learning process
