Well, for what it's worth, it's hot as hell in that car here in Florida. I don't drive it much this time of year for that reason. Some day I'll get the A/C back in it. Thx for compliments by the way.

My Satty project had a halo vinyl top like that, but I had issues with rust on the passenger side pillars. Scrapped the vinyl top, removed the rear window--glad I did, it was deeper than I expected--and now I'm off to the junk yard to take a sawz-all to that scrap roadrunner I found. A little snip here , a little snip there and then a good weld, and it should be as good as new.

And no, I don't think your car looks slow with a halo top. ..no one's ever said that about a 73 Charger with the halo. ..

P.S. (do you have any issues with your vinyl and rust"?)

If you go to Year One, they'll list two different types of vinyl roofs for the 70's Mopar B Body: Canopy and Halo. So I'm not sure what's going on with your decoding. . .

my Satty had a halo, now it's a lean mean non running evil machine going au natural as far as vinyl is concerned. .

but my Roadrunner had a canopy. .. which was great in the summer and I actually prefer the canopy top over the halo. .

I have many many decodings, and i have two that say Halo roof, and i remember reading somewheres,an article on sundances where they said halo.i thought they where the same roof style, because halo(ring) would make sebse seeing its not a full vynal top just a ring around the top of the roof, but i guess not

couldn't both tops on a 73-4 be considered "halo" cuz they don't come all the way to the windows like the 71-2s do they? they have their own perimeter

The "halo" does go all the way back, the canopy stops at the edge of the drip moldings(well mine stopped shorter than that, but im 99% sure its was the work of previous owners)

The Year one catalog has two different styles of canopy tops available, one that goes completely down the front pillars and meets at the drip rails, another that doesn't go down the front pillars and only goes to the bright molding, sort of a haloed canopy.

It's not on their website, but it definitely is in the Year One Catalog for 1973/1974. Gotta remember, even hamtrack states:

If you were able to order your car new at your local dealership back when our cars were new, your ever-friendly salesman likely would have sat down with you and paged through one of these books with you. They typically show some of the major options and option groups available for each model line along with some photos. They were not meant to be a "complete" list of options, and since they were printed just as the new model year began these books do contain some errors at times.
Like just about everything here at HH, this section will be a work in progress and other data books will be added as time goes on.

That's one of the reasons why I aquiesced on the electric antennae, it's not gonna be easy to find documentation, but my 1973 that was a repo when I bought it in 1975, had an electric antennae.
