Right now we put all FWD in two classes, stock or modified, regardless of year.

From year to year the "demographics" of the show change and I want to try and make classes to reflect that. A few years ago the pickup trucks started showing up and now make up one of the largest groups.

We also split the 68-70 B bodies into Dodge and Plymouth due to the larger numbers in that class.

What I'm trying to produce is probably a little overkill but I want to try and get as many different specific models categorized in the spreadsheet just to have the information available. Obviously won't ever find them all at our show, but at least it's available.

It's kind of like a treasure hunt as the more I get into this the more models I am finding that I didn't even know existed.

It was two weeks ago. Two years ago I took over the judging and am trying to get it all computerized, which I have about 90% done. Still working on tweaks and improvements.

The year/model matrix was just something I dreamed up to be a part of the system. When I get it all done, up and running, I'm going to offer it up as a freebie for other car clubs to use for their shows.

So far the local Mustang and Rod clubs have shown an interest in having it to use for their shows. I'll also just post it here for anybody else to use.

The basis is Microsoft Access which I was not that familiar with so it's been a slow learning curve. I chose Access as it is probably available to more people than some other system. I first tried to make it work using Excel as I was more familiar with that, but it just didn't do what I wanted to.

I hit a deer at 65 with my dad's k - car wagon, had the entire contents of that deer spread down the side of the car. Washed it off and sold it to my brother-in-law and all he had to do was replace the radiator and they drove it for yrs after that. (sometimes need a beater sitting around) :P
