paint question ? Imron

Post by B5RL » Mon Mar 10, 2008 2:07 pm

Has anyone ever used straight Imron paint, the type used on contruction trucks, airplanes, etc?? I know its hard to shoot and buff....has anyone ever seen a car shot with Imron? And what was your opinion? I know its strong as hell, I wonder about gloss & how it ages over time.

thanks

when i worked at a body shop i have both seen and painted cars with imron.its gets very hard, chips easy and isnt easy to repair. with the paints that are out today the only thing i would even consider imron on is mabey a tractor. and it does tend to fade out when exposed to the elements kind of like enamel . hope this helps, jeff

thanks for the information. I heard it was hard to repair, but thought it was also hard to chip it, learn something new.

thanks again
