sure grip in an 8 1/4 with 2:76 gears?

Is there a possiblilty that my 72 SSP would have a sure grip rear? I know the car is a 400 2 bbl car originally. The tag on the rear says 2:76(or 2:74) and it has 10 bolts on the cover. I haven't driven it because of all of the sanding tha I have been doing. I have, however, noticed that when moving the car and palying around........just maybe a quick half throttle, both tires spin...........is that a possiblilty?
