'71 road runner quarters

Post by ct71rr » Thu Jan 12, 2006 12:02 am

Hello all,

Just thought you guys would like to know, I spoke with Layson's Restoration a couple of weeks ago and they assured me that their quarter patch panels would be available in February (at latest March) of '06

Well, knowing Layson's track record with dates stuff will be available, I'll believe it when I see it.

Does anybody know if the WOM's are available from them yet? I've been told they will be available in October for the last 3 years running. Heck, the 71 marker lights were going to be available mid-summer for at least 2 years, if not more before they finally showed up.

Some of Layson's stuff is really good quality - I'm using a set of their marker lights for Project Bluebird, as well as a set of WOM's I did get from them from thier first trial batch. It's just their date estimates that lack the quality.

Layson's web site says the moldings are available ( looks like they came down in price a little ) they also had some at the mopar nationals.

I called layson's last week. Once on Thurs. and they said they were going to call the manufacturer and call me back (never called back) and then once on friday and they said the same thing. Needless to say, I still haven't received a call back. I don't think these things are ever going to be available.

Finally got an answer from Layson's. They said the rear 1/4 patch panels were going into production in the end of February. Said they should be available early April. Hope they aren't giving me the run around.

No, not too good to be true. Just remember, those are the "hand-formed" replacement panels that will need plenty of massaging to fit right and look decent. Probably made in China too...

'71 quarters

Post by ct71rr » Thu Mar 09, 2006 10:38 pm

Hello, just got an email from "Dave Layson". He stated that they were having an issue with producing the rear valances for the '67-69 cuda and as soon as they are done, the '71 road runner quarters will begin production. He states that they are still planning on a release date of June '06...

Keep the faith,

Chad
