Road Runner Nest

I'm back guys.

It looks like my original thread had so many views that no one can get in due to the maximum number of views has been reached.
So it was suggested that I start another thread, so here it is.

But I don't remember my last posting I put here (as I do post on the For B-bodies website too).

I'll start by saying that after I put the new multi-layered head gaskets on earlier this year it's been running great.
I went to as many local car shows as possible and just getting out driving it.
Here's some photos from various car shows.
Here's the car at Moparfest - Southern Ontario's biggest Mopar show. Here's another show I went to with my buddy Billy who owns the 1973 340 Duster. This show I went to along with my wife driving her Mini and my buddy Mark with his 1973 Road runner which his dad bought brand new. That car still wears it's original paint and has the original drivetrain in it (318/904). The very first show of the year I went with my buddies and their Mopar's. The very last show of 2025 was at a manor house on our Thanksgiving Monday. The black Duster belongs to my brother Tim - it's a 340 4 speed 72 model.

Okay, something happened with the other photos I posted, so I'll try to post them again.

Now with winter here its time to put the car away and start on a couple of fixes on the car.
First is to recurve the distributor. Years ago I had welded up the slots to lower the mechanical advance amount but wasn't sure by how much.
You can see the welds here. When I had the engine on the dyno, it was checked and there is 20* mechanical advance. But since my engine has the KB107 pistons in it and they are hypereutectic - I've read that total timing shouldn't exceed 34* when running this type of piston so I had to back off my initial to 13* which gave me a safe total timing of 33*
I want to tighten that up.
A buddy of mine had made this advance plate. I think he copied the one that FBO offers (or offered at the time).
So I pulled the distributor apart to installed the limiter plate. But first I wanted to compare my welded up plate with the 20* slot on the round plate to see how close in comparison are the slots. Yup, pretty much right on the money.
This shot is comparing the 12* slot which is what I'll be using to the welded up one.

So with only 12* total mechanical advance I can have the initial set to 20* and the total will come in at 32*.
Time to reassemble. I cleanup and repainted the vacuum advance pod - I gotta wait for the paint to dry to finish it up.

Sorry, you may have already mentioned this before - is that an EW1 car?
