What's it worth?

No build sheet or numbers drivetrain, read the latest magazine feature and it will tell you why.

There has only been four owners, with the last two being my buddy and myself. I have the original title, copy of the factory MSO, ETC. I also have a quick 30 second video of the car the day she brought it home. Owners are traced back to day one. Rick kreuzinger "RestoRick" did the body and paint. Missed out on first place at the Mopar Nats by two points in 1997 when it was completed. Only driven 3,000 miles since and still looks just as good today. Originally came with 15 x 7 Rally's, but my buddy kept them for his AAR.

I haven't thought about the value, and there hasn't been any recent sales to date in order to compare it to? It was finished back in 1997, but still looks phenomenal today.

Very difficult to put a value on the 71 RR and GTX. It seems that people like us who have them want to hang on to them, so you don't see many that are in good condition on the market.

I watch a lot of auctions and hardly ever see them. I don't think I've seen one go for more than about $35,000 since 2010. That said, I also don't recall any of the ones I did see sell being either 6 barrel or Hemi. I vaguely remember a Hemi car showing up on Mecum, but the reserve was not met. It is possible to look at past auction results on their website.

I hang out with a bunch of Mopar guys, all older than 50. I'm the only one who thinks the 71 / 72 body style is better looking than the 68 - 70 style. It seems that most people at cruise nights and car shows who aren't "Mopar guys" agree.

The fact that the subject car has a magazine article written about it certainly enhances it's value, and may negate the downside of the non-numbers-matching, especially if there is any documentation of the replacement drivetrain installation.

I have an idea - send the article and some pics to the TV show "What's My Car Worth?". That guy is usually very close to what they sell for.

I have been there, just curious if there have been any "Real World" sales lately?

This one sold for $115,000 this year.......

Well it seems these cars are not very desirable. I've had mine for sale on ebay and hemmings and not one serious offer. Mine is also a V code, matching numbers car, 4 speed , hemi orange with white stripe and black bench interior.
There is a blue one that sold at Mecum in 2016 for $80,000 and another at the same auction had a high bid of 50k but did not sell.
Mine is now off the market and in storage, but my asking price was lower than the previous sold cars and I had not a single serious offer.
Like someone mentioned before, the market and the amount of people who like this model is limited so it affects the price

$115,000 is impressive. I've seen V code E bodies go for less. It does seem that sometimes cars out of some noteworthy collection do better than normal, as do cars associated with a celebrity. This one must be in one of the episodes on my DVR I haven't seen yet. With winter here, I can get caught up.

I was pretty sure it came from the Wellborn collection, but it was from THE WAYNE SCHMEECKLE COLLECTION, whom I have never heard of. It was a fresh restoration to a very high level by Aloha Automotive up here by me prior to the shop going under.......

In the upcoming auction in January on Jan 6-15 there is one V code up for auction. Its lot F227, I thinks its Blue with auto on column. There might be others, this was the Mecum auction.

Unfortunately I believe prices on these cars are lower than they should be compared to other 440+6 mopars. Unless you find someone who really wants the car at an auction, $100K+ is a dream...I wish they were worth that (mine included).

That is pretty neat to have that video. If I were you put those rallyes back on, the car looks really good with them on.
