Road Runner Nest

I'm new to the site and found a lot of useful information so far. I have a tor red 71 383 road runner with auto trans. My mother bought the car back in 75 and now I have it. One of my problems is she got hit on the drivers side wheel back in the day and never repaired the suspension properly. We found that whomever welded the top ball joint in the a-frame. We thought that was the issue for the alignment problems. I'm looking to get a lower control arm and wondering where to get? new or used? I need more parts than that but I wanted to start there. Any help would be great. Thanks

I forgot to mention that we already replaced the upper a-arm

Welcome to the site. I don't know if the lower arms are being reproduced yet. There are performance arms available, but they don't look stock, so that means you would need two. The best place I guess would be eBay. E body arms are the same, but remember that they have to have a sway bar mounting tab.

Thanks. I had one in my hand in Carlisle this past summer and didnt get it. It was for an E body and wasnt sure if they was the same.

I might have one, I`ll have to check which side has the sway bar mount as one doesn`t . You might want to have the frame checked as the accident might have tweaked the frame rail.

Thanks, I'm planning on checking the frame when we get it up on the lift. I'm hoping that it's just the lower contol arm thats bent.

Be sure to check the spindle to, my car had a thing like that and the spindle got bent also.

I changed over to disc brake so that shouldn't be the problem

On many car forums for Mopars, they are around still, used though. Just put an ad on there for parts wanted section and you should get a hit.

I got a lower control arm off of "part my ride" for $70 and that was the problem. My arm twisted a little and the shaft where it fastens to the frame was shoved 1" or so back into the arm.
