I don't know, but the best advice I could give is to get one of those wheel right things, where you can put it on the hub, and play with all kinds of different sizes, and back spacing right on the car. Then you will know for certain.

Hey Kent,
15 x 10 sounds pretty wide - probably would have to tub it a little. Use the search feature for the forums - there are a lot of past posts about what wheel sizes fit on our cars.
Scott.

i think you would like to see the fat tires dave stuck under blue bird look at his project journal at the bottom of the site front page -- if the pics are working, maybe i should have checked that before posting this recommendation to you.

Part of the answer lies in what tire size you intend to use. Even then, the profile changes from brand to brand a little bit. That said, I think the 10" wheels, particularly with the range of tire sizes that "fit" that wheel, are going to be too wide.

On the front, I have 15 x 7 Rallyes with 235 x70 Eagle GTs. They rub slightly on the apron in an extreme turn with suspension travel. I have 275 x 60 on the rear, same wheels. They don't rub. But, they're only about 1"+ from the leaf springs and 1" from the wheel house lip. As far as I can find, those wheels are zero backspace.

15x10's in the back will be no problem. You'll need between 5.5" and 6" of backspace, and shouldn't have any issues running anything up to about a 295. "0" offset is 5.5" on a 10" rim, although theres a little more room to the springs in the back with a zero offset rim. I think a 15x10" with a 6" backspace would be about ideal to center the wheel with the stock spring location.

Again, in the front 15x8.5" won't be a problem. Zero offset would be 4.75" backspace, and that would clear just fine. You could get away with 4.5" backspace.

I mocked up a set of 17x9" rims with 5" backspace and 275/40/17's on my '71 SSP, front and rear, and had room everywhere. The issue with the 15's is going to be tire selection in anything wide enough to fit the rear, you're probably stuck with Mickey Thompson's as they're about the only thing I see offered in decent widths. You should be able to run a 26x10.00R15 up front and a 26 or 28x12.00R15 in the back.

You can see my pictures and measurements from my mock up of the 275's here.

That tire has a 10.9" section width, and fit with an inch to the quarters and 1 3/8" to the springs out back. A 12" wide tire would fit out back no problem, you really only need about a 1/2" of clearance to the springs and quarters to keep from rubbing. In fact, you could run 26x1.002R15's up front if you wanted, just need a 15x10" with about 5.25" to 5.5" backspace.
