What's your color?

Post by Uppy » Wed Jan 22, 2014 1:02 pm

Just curious how many 1971 GTX owners cars are white? I've been looking on the internet for a while and don't see many Snow White GTX's. Just wondering if mine has a sister!

Well, mine is, but it's a Road Runner... Dale Matthews also has a white '71 RR here in NC. There was ONE white '71 GTX local to me, but closer inspection revealed it was a B5 car that had been repainted white. That's the LONG answer. In short I've only seen white '71 GTXs at Carlisle and not many of them at that.

Hey Uppy,
Out of the 50 or so 1971 Plymouth B-bodies I have tag info or partial tag info on, 3 are coded for GW3 Sno-white.

One is a Satellite Sebring project car in Ohio that was on eBay in May of last year.
One is a nice Roadrunner in Virginia that was also on eBay in May of last year.
The other is a factory sunroof Roadrunner in North Carolina that is owned by a former Nest member.

Sorry, no GTXs.
Scott.

Seems I might have a rare GTX then? At least as far as color goes.

Hmmm. Looks like you have been driving too fast - the racing stripes on you hood indents are peeling off. :D Great looking car. What part of Colorado do you hail from? Go Broncos.

Actually I live in Michigan, the car came from Colorado. Yes she's in need of a restoration, but still fun to drive in the mean time. Go Lions? LOL

Well, if we are talking about Snow White B-bodies in general, I do have one as well. My SSP is Snow White, green interior, and originally had a green top...

My GTX has a blue interior, bench seat with salt and pepper cloth inserts. Kind of strange for a GTX I would think.

ALERT...All hardcore 'numbers-matching' guys, just turn away....

My 72 SS came with GB5 paint and the F1B5 interior,
now it has GW3 paint and H6X9 interior.

My '71 GTX is a factory GW3 car. In fact, at the end of the month, it is heading off for a total repaint! At this moment, it is satin black, so, the pics would be worthless...

Just out of curiousity, what was your build date? Mine was Jan 4, 1971. Just wondering if maybe born on same date.

Mine has a scheduled production date of 9/11/70. It was built and sold new right in Los Angeles, California.

Here is the only white showing at this time :D
