As I told you yet, I still had to install the EFI on the « Pro Runner »…

Now it’s done. After checking a lot of EFI-systems, I decided to buy the MSD Atomic EFI. If you looking for an EFI-system, I can really reccomend the Atomic. It’s a very easy and fast installation, no laptop is required, it’s possible to install it as a returnless-system, has cool features like timing-control or fan-control directly on the display of handheld-controller, and much more…

This is the Atomic EFI set…

Image

First, I installed the O2-Sensor. So drilled a hole, welded in the thread port and mounted the sensor…

Image

Next step was the fuel pump. The pump must be mounted as close as possible to the tank and below the lowest point of tank. So i builded a aluminium braket and installed the pump...

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

A big fuel filter must be installed between the pump and the throttle-body. I installed the filter in middle of car, next to the subframe connectors…

Image

Between tank and pump a pre-filter must be also installed. Then I run the fuel hose along the car until the throttle-body…

Image

Image

Because I wanted to controlling the ignition timing through the EFI, i had to install a new MSD Pro Billet distributor with an adjustable rotor cap and a MSD 6A ignition box. To match the rest of engine bay, I painted the distributor-cap black and then I installed all parts…

Image

Installed the temperature-sensor in the intake…

Image

…and then the throttle-body! Fortunately the throttle-linkage and the keisler-sensor fits on the EFI linkage perfect, with no modifications!

Image

Image

Image

Then I connected all electric-cables and installed the power module and the ignition box under the dash…

Image

Connected the fuel hose…

Image

…and connected the electrical cables on the fuel pump.

Image

Next step was the handheld-display. I wanted to mount the display in my dash. But because the handheld is red like all MSD parts, i hat to painting it first black…

before…

Image

and after….

Image

I installed the display in the ashtray. For that, i had to modifying it, so i cutted a few parts out, welded a few parts in and cutted an opening for the display…

Then i painted all black and installed all in the car. Here how it looks…

Finally I reassembled the completely engine bay…

Here a little vid of the first start with the EFI. No throttle, no everything… I just turned the key and he started easily!
In the first 10 seconds he had to find his setup, but then the engine ran excellent…

The MSD Atomic EFI is a self-learning system. This means that the more you drive it, the further it sets itself and adapts to various conditions. These values are then stored and retrieved when needed, depending on the outside temperature, altitude or other conditions.

So now, I need just to drive it… ;-)

Gionni, It's an inspiriation! GY9 has quickly become my favorite color. My GTX is this color, and might actaully...finally...get painted in the next couple weeks.

instead of doing my bumpers color matched, i think I'm going to have them painted bright silver...

I LOVE all the 3-d carbon wrap.

Just an incredible car.

Finally, i changed this winter the complete interior of „Pro Runner“. This is now the definitely setup for the interior. Here a few works and pics:

- Recaro-seats in front with custom-design in leather/alcantara (suede)
- Rear bench from a donor car (Alfa Romeo :D ) done with the same stich-design and leather/alcantara like front Recaros
- Rear floor modified for the new bench
- New dash-pad covered in leather with custom-stiches
- Console-center covered in Di-Noc 3D Carbon
- Steering-wheel rim covered in alcantara

Very nice work all around and one of the best I've seen done. A nod to you sir , for the craftsman you obviously are.
