Got my project home

Post by RoadrunnerSteve » Wed Jan 30, 2013 12:14 am

Here she is... '71 340 Auto EV2 with Black bench interior. The most unique thing is that it is a power window car. I was told it had a build sheet, which it did, but it was for a '72 318 satellite that apparently donated the back seat. I can't wait to get started, but i gotta start saving pennies and gathering parts. No engine or transmission so I'm thinking 440 instead of a 340. This is my son and I - we stopped at Hemi's Cafe in Quapaw, OK for a picture, just a couple miles from where we picked up the car.

She's rough, but the floors and frame are all in great shape. Needs quarters, wheelhouses, doors and trunk lid replaced, and its missing a lot of parts.

I bought it for $1100 plus my costs to go get it... Did I do ok? I'll post some more pictures when I get it cleaned out.

Thanks - I'm not sure if I'm going to go bench or buckets yet. It has a Charger bench with armrest in it now, so I'm going to change it out anyway.

Hey Sounds like a cool car with a great color. Have you ever thought of putting a 340 stroker motor in it. There is a thread over on Moparts where a guy has a 71 340 RR and is doing a stock resto and stroking his 340. You should check it out. Good Luck!

Funny you mention you found a build sheet for another car in it. When I bought my 71 Satellite it too had a build sheet for a 72 Charger under it's back seat. Good Luck with your car!

I have thought about doing a stroker small block, or even just a standard 340. I've been following Kevin's thread on Moparts for awhile now too. I hope my work is half as nice as his...

Thanks for the comments guys.

If it had a 340 originally, I would go with a 340. Just my 2 cents.
